Mark Gatiss at Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s house.
Save Undershaw now has the support from major co-buying platform BuyaPowa who are helping with a Sherlock Holmes new novels offer open to UK residents. MX Publishing has also pledged to match the final deal price for all US fans as well.
You can see details of the co-buy on a special tab on the Save Undershaw Facebook page.
The bundle is pretty special as it includes a book published yesterday, Sherlock Holmes and The Dear Boer at Scotney Castle, and two not yet released titles - The Detective and The Woman and Sherlock Holmes and the Whitechapel Vampire, so fans will get the books months before they go on general sale.
For each batch bought a donation will go to Save Undershaw.
The debate is raising awareness for Save Undershaw - currently at 7,206 of their 10,000 fans target on Facebook ahead of the judicial review in May looking to save Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s house and was organised by Holmes publishers MX Publishing.
The Debate supporters includee - Baker Street Babes, Sherlock Holmes Society of London, Sherlockology, Big Finish, I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere , Always 1895 , No Place Like Holmes, and mPowa (Venue sponsors - Process credit cards with your smartphone)
We’ve been posting alot about the Save Undershaw campaign and The Great Sherlock Holmes Debate (which is taking place next Sunday 18th March in order to raise awareness for Undershaw) recently and although it’s not strictly BBC Sherlock news it’s most certainly relevant.
We ask that you spare 10 minutes of your time to watch this short video which will explain exactly what Undershaw is and why it is so important that we take action now as time is running out to save this historical building.
Thank you.
YES. YES SO MUCH THIS. THIS.
With one week left until The Great Sherlock Holmes Debate 2 in London on Sunday 18th March, there is still time to vote on the two big items for the debate (over 1,000 votes cast already):
1) Warner Brothers Sherlock vs BBC Sherlock?
2) The CBS casting of Lucy Liu as Dr. Watson.
You can add your thoughts and comments too at The Great Sherlock Holmes Debate Facebook Page.
Don’t forget to click ‘like’ on the Save Undershaw page - and help save Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s house from destruction.
The Great Sherlock Holmes Debate 2 is made possible by the following:

On 18 March, 25 of the world’s top Holmes experts, including actors, directors, historians and writers involved in each of the franchises, will meet in person to once again argue over which is the best Holmes adaptation – and to share their thoughts on Elementary, the controversial modern-day take on Sherlock from US TV network CBS, set to star Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.
Fans can head over to The Great Sherlock Holmes Debate’s Facebook page to see the results of a pre-debate poll, leave comments and find out how to vote for their favourite franchise following the event. The debate will be filmed and made available to fans afterwards but there’s also a chance to win a place watching it live.
Last year saw a palpable victory for BBC Sherlock in the voting, with popular siteSherlockology playing a key part in the win.
The debate, organised by MX Publishing, supports the Save Undershaw campaign, which aims to preserve the former home of Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, where he penned many of the stories.
Just to let you know, MX Publishing is here on tumblr too!
As mentioned here [x] I have decided to try and pull together the efforts of the Sherlock fandom to make a book supporting Undershaw House.
(The home of Sherlock Holmes mastermind and altogether eccentric English inspiration, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.)
Today I’m starting to take submissions of any form (of any adaptations).
This includes:
- Drawings
- Poems
- Graphics
- Short Stories
- Long stories (extract)
- Lyrics
- Research/facts
- Anything else that can go in a book
Just submit it here and title it under one of the following themes:
- Beneath the Hat: Who is Sherlock Holmes? (So, profiles and facts, quotations etc about the character)
- Domestic Life at 221b (Everyday comings and goings of Baker Street)
- The Fall (Yes, that fall. Angst welcome through the tears)
- 1895 (Things of the era, the style, the general feeling of the Victorian Age)
- The Game is Afoot (The general chase within cases, fighting and chasing and lying in wait)
- Please keep “crack” to limit, remain as canon as possible (inside jokes are fine: a pot of jam lying around or a stray kitten) and feel free to recommend artists I should contact.
- I will not use artist content without permission, and I am currently drafting letters to various companies to get the all clear on the use of Sherlock Holmes.
- The profit is pride: the money is for charity. (Undershaw cannot currently accept money, so anything raised will go to a charity which will be voted for.)
- There are no deadlines yet. I just need samples to send of with the letters some time in the sort of distant future.
- Working title for the book is “The Art of Deduction”.
Any questions?

my contribution to The Art of Deduction fanbook: http://aguidetodeduction.tumblr.com/post/17104271503/save-undershaw-house-submissions-needed

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Even though this blog is still primarily Sherlock oriented (and still my personal blog too), I’ve decided that I reblog and post about Star Trek 2013 and Supernatural enough, that I now have links for that content on my blog’s main page for convenience. :D
There is also links listed for Alistair Duncan, Misha Collins, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and a giant link about Save Undershaw!
Enjoy~

Runner Up Prize: A ”deduction promotion” on A Guide to Deduction and a personal letter from Sherlock Holmes.
Rules:

- Only reblogs will be counted, not likes.
- Reblogs from “fake” (inactive or purely designed for giveaways) accounts will not be counted.
- One reblog per day: anyone with spammed entries will be disqualified.
- Winners will be chosen completely at random and given 48 hours to respond or the prize will go to another entrant.
- You must expect to give an address and at minimum initials/full name to receive the prize.
How to Improve Your Chances
- Submit work for the Save Undershaw Project. Each piece is worth one extra entry, and submissions are unlimited. Stolen work will result in immediate disqualification. Work purely for entry with no effort will not be counted.

This is a cool giveaway, but I’m really pumped to just help save Undershaw! YES.
This is a rad video! Great cause.
Isn’t it though? That’s why I bought Alistair Duncan’s An Entirely New Country (has a foreword by Mark Gatiss; a history about Undershaw). Besides the fact that it is full of all kinds of wonderful history, part of the profit of the book is supporting the funding of the Save Undershaw Preservation Trust.
I occasionally tweet Alistair on twitter and we just talk about whatever *laughs* I wish there was more I could do to help the Undershaw cause besides blogging about it and joining their Facebook group. :D
From youtube description: A video in effort to promote the “Save Undershaw Preservation Trust”. Help save Arthur Conan Doyle’s (Sherlock Holmes creator) former residence Undershaw!
Mark Gatiss, Patron of the Undershaw Preservation Trust, Let’s Help Save the Creator of Sherlock Holmes House
Mr. Gatiss wants Undershaw Saved. I think we fans of the Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson characters, in whatever incarnation, can pull together on this and save Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s home that he helped build.
Just look at how amazing we all are during the I Believe in Sherlock Holmes campaign. Let’s pull together to fight for this important Sherlockian destination. To fight for it’s preservation, restoration, and to have it created as a historical landmark.
We are a creative and intellectual Fandom. We can so do this thing together.
Please visit the Save Undershaw website for information.
Please reblog to spread the new Fandom mission. :-)
